Therapists need support too!
Whether you have been practicing for 3 or 30 years, our helping profession is something we all have in common. The group will also offer space for career-related dialogue and support, as well as promote each other’s personal and professional growth.
The content of the group is driven by group members wants/needs, but here are some examples of what may be explored during our time together:
- Debrief stressful cases
- Being a therapist amidst our own life challenges
- Imposter Syndrome
- Emotional support
- Practice building
- Themes surrounding our attachment styles
- Themes surrounding our Enneagram type
- Explore our triggers and countertransference (perhaps as related to our family of origin)
- Celebrate successes/helpful interventions
- Identify areas of personal and professional growth
- Deepen self understanding
- Case consultation
- Stress/grief that gets in the way of effective work
- Support for professional challenges
- Burnout or compassion fatigue
- Finances and money management mindsets
- Resource requests
- Share our ups and downs
… and any other issues related to being a clinician that would be meaningful to you (the online registration form will ask for your needs and intentions).
This is not a therapy group, yet the boundaries /norms of confidentiality are observed and members may bring into the group anything that is meaningful to their experience as a therapist and as a human being.
This group will be led by Michelle Joy, MFT, and is filled with other compassionate group members. We will meet on Thursdays every other week for 8 weeks beginning on March 14th from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
